KTM 1290 Adventure - Remove & Install the Mask Spoiler

Prep Work
There are a few steps that need to be completed prior to removing the mask spoiler. Click on the articles below for detailed instructions.
Tools Needed
- T30 Torx
- Ratchet
- Small Flat Head Screwdriver
Remove the Mask Spoiler
With your T30 Torx, remove the screw in the image below. This screw is a little hidden. It is located underneath the handlebars on the inside of the tunnel where your fork tubes come up. You will have to rotate the handelbars fully to get access.

With your T30 Torx, remove the screw in the image below. This is located underneath the front end on the outside edge.

With your T30 Torx, remove both of the screws shown in the image below. Once removed, slide the panel slightly forward and carefully pull the panel towards you. You will not be able to move it far as the turn signal wire is connected.

With a small flat head screwdriver, press the release button on the electrical connection shown in the image below. Once disconnected you have removed the mask spoiler.

Install the Mask Spoiler
Press the electrical connection together for the turn signal cable.

There is an intake tube on the back of the mask spoiler. This intake tube must line up and slide over the intake tube on the motorcyle. Position the mask spoiler on the side of the bike with the intake tubes lined up. Slide it towards the rear of the motorcyle until it is in position.

Make sure this post is aligned and pressed into the hole.

Install both of the screws below with your T30 Torx. The front screw (black) can be torqued to 3.5 Nm or 2.58 lb-ft. The rear screw (silver w/bushing) can be torqued to 4 Nm or 3 lb-ft.

Install this screw underneath the front end with your T30 Torx. This screw can be torqued to 3.5 Nm or 2.58 lb-ft.

Install this screw underneath your handlebars with your T30 Torx. This screw can be torqued to 3.5 Nm or 2.58 lb-ft.
