KTM 1290 Adventure - Remove and Install Side Panels

Tools Needed:

• T30 Torx
• Ratchet

Remove the Side Panel

With your T30 torx, remove the two screws indicated in the image below. Once the screws have been removed, slide the panel forward slightly and then remove from the bike.

Install the Side Panel

There are lugs on the backside of the panel that need to line up and hook into the bike. There is also a tab on the rear of the panel that needs to slide underneath the tank cover. Start with the rear tab slightly underneath the tank cover and then align the front lugs to hook into the bike.

With everything aligned, slide the cover towards the rear of the bike. Confirm the front lugs are hooked into the bike and that the holes line up. With everything lined up, reinstall the screws with a T30 torx.

If you want to get technical, the torque specs for the screws are: 3.5 Nm or 2.58 lb-ft
